The Architecture and Technologies Security Team drives holistic security and supports the whole division. You will get the chance to participate in solving real-life security questions in a modern team environment working with a vast range of new and established technologies

What you will learn and contribute to


We are looking for a new member to the DA Security Team to engineer and drive mitigation of security risks around our MX Industrial Edge (MXIE) and 3rd party applications. Our MXIE and 3rd party application supply chain is built on top of cutting-edge technologies, Linux containers, Kubernetes (K8s), and it leverages various contemporary infrastructure applications and services.

You will be assigned to solve security challenges by engineering adequate technical and process-driven risk mitigations. Relevant risks can be related to new feature implementation or in the product security domain. You will contribute to defending confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information and processing resources to protect our customers, partners, and Nokia’s security interests.

You will work with Security Architects to contribute to developing security risk-mitigating feature architecture and requirements, and you will be responsible for implementing those once approved. You will closely work with other R&D colleagues to ensure adequate and appropriate implementation. You will be accountable to assure and report security and quality compliance of your work before it may be put into production.

As part of our team, you will:

  • Create high- and low-level designs for security-related risk mitigation features
  • Drive automation of processes and tools for security assurance
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, other architects, and R&D colleagues to shape the risk mitigation solutions to Nokia’s needs and to make them scalable
  • Work with partners and suppliers to ensure their deliverables match Nokia’s security standards and requirements
  • Create proof of concepts and implementations for security assurance and enforcement

Your skills and experience


You come with a credible interest to grow in the security field, and you have:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant engineering field in the cloud and/or security domain
  • Good insights in the K8s and docker container technologies the MXIE platform is built on
  • Existing exposure to in K8s networking and policy enforcement with CNI agents, Calico, Flannel, Cilium
  • Ability to create proof of concepts, production code, and automation tooling by coding in languages like Python, Bash, Golang, or credible capability to learn
  • Ability to leverage Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) tooling like GitLab, Jenkins
  • Solid English communication skills



It would be nice if you also had:

  • Knowledge of K8s Pod Security Standards concepts and use
  • Hands-on with automatic testing tools and insights in testing processes and requirements
  • Experience in vulnerability management
  • Understanding of security hardening principles and ability to productize those
